“Autumn…the year’s last, loveliest smile” ~ William Bryant
Brrr. Well summer has limped away reluctantly and autumn has gleefully arrived on our doorstep bringing with it crisp air and changing leaves. While I enjoy the fall season, I grimace at the thought that (c)old man winter is lurking around the corner.
And before you get your H’ween decorations packed away, Christmas will be knocking at our door which will find us grumblin’ like Ebenezer Scrooge about why we didn’t have the good sense to book a tropical vacation. Well aren’t you lucky that I’m here to put the thought of a tropical trip in the forefront of your mind? J
The past two decades has seen a dramatic rise in the number of families celebrating Christmas on a palm fringed beach. It seems people are tired of the frantic pace, long lineups at stores and frigid temperatures that go hand in hand with the holidays. And given kids are already out of school on break, it makes sense to hang an ornament on a palm tree somewhere hot 😉
And what could be a better time to reconnect with family than lying on a beach with nothing to do and all day to do it! No stuffing of turkeys, setting dinner tables, scraping dinner plates and NO shoveling the driveway…Just imagine swinging yourself silly in a hammock overlooking the ocean while everyone back home will be trying to outrun frostbite, chapped lips and stress. You’ve got to admit you’ll be feeling a little bit smug about that. Consider it the ultimate Christmas gift to yourself…
One of the most spectacular spots in the world to visit is the tropical Riviera Maya with her soft white sands backed by low-lying jungle and picturesque coastline that has been bragged about in many a travel magazine.
For those that like a bit more adventure than being parked on a beach for a week, there’s plenty of activities to do while you’re in paradise.
You can enjoy day trips to ancient Mayan ruins, zipline into a cenote, swim underground rivers, float on a lazy river, snorkel with turtles, swim with dolphins, scuba dive at a coral reef, go on a nature tour, bird watch, parasail, explore a lagoon, horseback ride along the Carribean & the list goes on…
During the evening you can enjoy the nightlife of 5th Avenue in Playa del Carmen with its authentic European charm and music-filled air or watch the fire shows and live bands on the beach which runs parallel to 5th avenue. That’s after you’ve enjoyed a delectable dinner at one of the many international restaurants in Playa del Carmen or in one of the surrounding towns which includes Cancun, Akumal, Tulum and Puerto Morelos.
This paradise also comes with the opportunity to hang your towel in our private oceanfront condos which offer something for everyone. Fully-equipped gourmet kitchens, luxurious living rooms, infinity pool, Jacuzzi, housekeeping, large spacious bedrooms, private terraces and rooftop penthouses which overlook the sparkling Caribbean. Equipped with flat screen TVs, DVD, CD, iPod players, and Wifi which add to the comfort and enjoyment of our discerning guests.
Oh and be sure to keep an eye out for Santa on a lounger. Word has it he ditches the red velvet suit for Bermuda shorts and hits the beach right after he’s done delivering those packages to all the little kiddies.
So many reasons to love you Mexic-OH!
